Abstract
Purpose: This study has attempted to analyze the association between health literacy and health concerns of COVID-19 infection by using the Korea Community Health Survey, nationally representative data collected under complex sample designs.

Methods: The concern of COVID-19 infection was used as the independent variable and main dependent variable was health literacy. In this study, social determinants of health were considered as control variables. The relationships of health literacy with health concerns of COVID-19 infection were analyzed using binary logistic regression.

Results: As a result, people with low health literacy were more likely to have health concerns of COVID-19 infection. And sex, age, marital status, household income, education level, unmet medical needs, health screening, residential area, reliability of social environment were significantly associated with health concerns of COVID-19 infection.

Conclusions: This study revealed that health literacy was negatively associated with the health concerns of COVID-19 infection. People with low health literacy would be more likely to have low resilience on infodemic situation, distorted perceptions and uncertainty about COVID-19, leading to increased concerns of COVID-19 infection. Therefore, policymakers should support to enhance capacity to improve health literacy and delivery of accurate health-related information at the same time.
